From the recording ALMA MÍA
After 4 years of releasing new music, alternative singer / songwriter Loco Tranquilo is set to release their first single in Spanish, titled “Alma Mía” (English: “My Soul”). They celebrate with a headlining show at beloved local venue The Chapel. “Alma Mía” incorporates elements of jazz and pop for a heartfelt tribute to their brother and sister, who live in Argentina, while exploring themes of enduring family love, patience, and the pursuit of dreams.
Originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, Loco Tranquilo is now based in San Francisco, California. He’s known for his evocative live performances and innovative sound, blending elements of Argentine rock with psychedelic pop, jazzy melodies, and touches of freak folk. His work is heavily influenced by artists like Devendra Banhart, Ty Segall, Kurt Cobain, and Gustavo Cerati, resulting in a rich and distinctive musical style.
“Alma Mía” is the first glimpse at Loco Tranquilo’s first bilingual album, slated for later release in 2025. When asked more about the project, he shares that “choosing Spanish for this release feels like a way to honor my roots and connect with the Latino community here in the Bay Area, where I live and create.”
Lyrics
Te veo hermano mío
Te veo construiste un nido
Te veo hermana mía
Te veo curaste tus heridas
Vivo por vos
Vivo por vos
Flotando en el sol
Vivo por vos
Febrero alma mía
Febrero voy en subida
Te veo amada mía
Te veo lamiendo mis heridas
Vivo por vos
Vivo por vos
Flotando en el sol
Vivo por vos
Vivo por vos
Vivo por vos
Flotando en el sol
Vivo por vos
